The Employees of the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia revealed the fact of poaching in Mtskheta-Mtianeti.
The Environmental Supervision Department of Georgia shared the details of these facts on its official Facebook Page on Friday, October 10, 2025. The Department also shared some glimpses of the facts along with their details.
According to the details shared by the Environment Supervision Department of Georgia, it should be noted that near the village of Ksni in Mtskheti municipality, on the Mtkvari river, a citizen was fishing from an inflatable boat using a prohibited means – an electric weapon. As soon as he saw the crew of the Environmental Supervision Department, he sank the boat and tried to escape. Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Authority officials were able to stop him.
The electronic weapons have harmful effects not only on fish, but also on all living organisms in the water ecosystem. In addition, it poses a threat to human life and health.
