Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 9 people on drug charges at different times. They are accused of purchasing, storing, and promoting the sale of large quantities of illegal drugs.
The
Ministry of Internal Affairs shared the details of this heinous crime through its official Facebook Page on October 1, 2026, Friday. It is worth noting that the Police Department of the Ministry conducted an in-depth investigation into this case.
As a result of operational measures and investigations in the criminal case, it has been found that the accused were involved in criminal schemes to turn the drugs into keys; in particular, they were placing the drugs in specific places through various Internet applications and social networks, and then, with appropriate coordinators, notable photos were sent to interested persons. The investigation also found that among the detainees were citizens of both
Georgia and foreign countries.
As a result of raiding the defendants’ private and residential houses, as well as during the investigation, the law enforcers seized a large quantity of narcotics from the locations they specified, including: “cocaine”, “methadone”, so-called bio, and “marijuana”.
As a result of the investigation, the police also seized materials needed to evaluate the drugs and the money allegedly obtained from the sale of the drugs.
The investigation is underway under articles 260 and 260-quater of the
Criminal Code, which provide for imprisonment of up to 20 years or life.
