Georgia: Officers of the Main Division for Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Kakheti Police Department detained three people in Tbilisi and Kakheti as a result of joint operative measures and investigative actions.
K.Kh., born in 1976, who has been convicted many times in the past, is accused of gang rape, while persons convicted of various crimes in the past are charged with G.B., born in 1987. And T.G. was born in 1975. Arrested on charges of gang extortion and violence.
The offences carry a sentence of 4 to 7 years in prison.
The investigation revealed that the defendants demanded 4000 GEL from citizen E.B., threatening to use violence. G.B. And T.G. The victim was threatened with death and bodily injuries on the grounds of non-payment within a certain period of time. In order to avoid further violence, E.B. handed over the requested amount to the defendants.
The law enforcers detained all three persons as a result of a special operative measure carried out simultaneously in Tbilisi and Kakheti. Police seized an automatic firearm, a pistol, two pistols and 18 cartridges as evidence during a search of a vehicle driven by G.B. During the personal search of K.Kh. and T.G.; drugs were seized.
The investigation is underway under Article 181, Part 2, Subparagraph A of the Criminal Code of Georgia and Article 126, Part 1, Subparagraph B of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates group extortion and violence.
