The employees of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of complex police measures against drug crime, have stopped attempts to spread especially large quantities of drugs – up to 4 kilograms of “Alpha-PVP” in the country. The value of the drugs seized on the so-called black market is one and a half million GEL.
A foreign citizen has been arrested on charges of attempting to illegally purchase and store drugs, attempting to illegally transport, and attempting to promote illegal sale.
The investigation has determined that the arrested person, who was planning to sell a particularly large amount of drugs sent to him from a foreign country in disguise, had to take this drug at one of the parking lots in Tbilisi.
The law enforcers, as a result of complex investigative measures, sent to the accused, especially large quantities of drugs – up to 4 kg of “Alpha-PVP” as evidence in one of the regions of Georgia, and controlled delivery of the parcel to the address.
The accused met the parcel, according to the criminal plan he prepared in advance, at the parking lot in Tbilisi, after which he tried to leave the capital.
As a result of investigations, the police stopped a man at the Tbilisi exit while driving his own vehicle. Law enforcers seized a parcel as evidence, as well as materials needed for drug evaluation after the car crash.
The investigation is underway under articles 19-260, 19-260 Prima and 19-260 Tertia of the Criminal Code, which provide for imprisonment of up to 20 years or life.
