Tbilisi: The President of the International Skiing Federation, Johan Eliasch, visited Bakuriani, where he attended the Bakuriani World Championships 2023 in freestyle, snowboard and frisky.
The President of the federation inspected the infrastructure, which was specially built for the championship. Also, he assessed the level of preparation for the World Championship and the activities done by the Organizing Committee.
Additionally, the President of the International Skiing federation gave a really positive feedback for the preparations that Georgia undertook. He further noted that Georgia has great potential to be the future host for the events of such a scale.
Eliasch stated- “ I think it’s really very impressive. This shows that not only in central Europe but also in Georgia, such things can be done, which is fantastic. I think your mountains have a lot of potential, and the snow is very good quality. As for the organizing committee, they have really done their job very well.
“After all this, we will be able to come down in the future and plan more events. This will be very helpful for the country and tourism development” stated Eliasch.
Johan Eliasch was inspected the infrastructure of the championship by Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili and the Director of Mountain Trails Agency (MTA), Irakli Burchuladze.
The preparations from the team of Mountain Trails Agency were also praised by the Eurosport commentator. He stated- “If you get your chance to come up here in Bakuriani, Georgia, beautiful place.They’ve invested so much in the infrastructure here. And big thank you to the MTA, The Mountain Trails Agency of Georgia, doing amazing job.”
