The Prosecutor office of the Republic of Georgia has charged two foreign nationals in connection with the possession of Narcotic drugs.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the Prosecutor’s Office provided the information and stated that they have filed charges against two citizens of a foreign country. They were accused of the illegal purchase, storage, and possession of a large amount of narcotic drugs.
The provided information also added that these two are citizens of India and were found in possession of narcotics . So office initiated the investigation and found them guilty for illegal purchase, storage, and possession of a large amount of narcotic drugs in Kutaisi.
The investigation in this regard was carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs also . According to the investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that the defendants illegally purchased and stored a large amount of narcotic drug “Methamphetamine” as a group, which they illegally got in exchange for money. Also one of the defendants illegally purchased kept and sold a large amount of narcotic drug “Methamphetamine”.
It is to be noted that the law enforcement officers arrested the defendants on February 22 based on the court’s decision. They have been charged with Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia part 3 “a, b” and part 5, sub-paragraphs “a” and “b” (illegal purchase, storage, and distribution of a large number of narcotic drugs by a group with prior agreement ).
Meanwhile one of the defendants was additionally charged with the fact of illegal purchase, storage, and possession of a large amount of narcotic drugs. The charge against the both persons is punishable by imprisonment from 12 to 17 years if they are found guilty by the court of law.
The prosecutor’s office applies to the court within the time limit established by the law with a motion to extend the imprisonment of the defendants as a preventive measure.
