The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has indicted 7 persons for the illegal purchase and storage of large quantities of drugs, as well as promoting the illegal purchase, storage, and realization of psychotropic substances.
The Georgia Prosecution Service shared the details of this heinous crime through its official Facebook Page on April 15, 2026, Wednesday. It is worth noting that the police department of the Ministry of Finance’s Investigation Service of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this case.
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the defendants illegally purchased and promoted the realization, illegally stored large and especially large quantities of narcotic substances methadone (foundation), “MDMA” and “Mepedron”, “Alpha-PVP” (α-PVP), “dried marijuana”, and also, especially large quantities of psychotropic substance “Ketamine”.
As a result of the actions, the employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized the mentioned drugs. Items required for drug evaluation were also removed.
The detainees will be charged under Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia under:
- sub-section 2nd part “D” and sub-section 3rd part “a” (illegal purchase, storage of drugs, committed in particularly large quantities, multiple times),
- 260th quarter, sub-clause of Article 6 “a” (promotion of illegal realization of drugs, committed by particularly large quantities),
- 260th Quarter Mu Part 2 of the fruits sub-clause “e” (promoting the illicit realization of marijuana by a judge),
- 260 tercia (illegal realization of the drug “marijuana”),
- article 273 (illegal use of a drug without a doctor’s appointment, by a judge),
- article 261 (illegal purchase of a drug without an appointment with a physician),
- Sub-clause 3 of Article “a” (illegal possession of especially large quantities of psychotropic substances, Language-saving) and
- 260 quarters of the article, third Sub-paragraph “A” (promoting the illegal realization of especially large quantities of psychotropic means).
It is also noteworthy that it provides for the punishment and imprisonment of up to 20 years or life. Based on the prosecutor’s motion, the court sentenced the defendants to imprisonment as a preventive measure.
