“Tbilisi Development Fund” in Chughureti district, Pirosmani Street N29, where the State Museum of the prominent Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani is located, is carrying out rehabilitation works.

The current situation is dismantling walls and gutters, plastering interior walls, plastering front facade, backyard brick repair, and welding metalwork on the balcony. The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, got acquainted with Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani about ongoing works.

“The city of bossman.” About 60 families were living in the building and a shed on the N29, which was in a very serious accident. The rehabilitation of the building is underway, which will be completed early next year. The mentioned building and garbage are interesting in the view that Niko Pirosmani lived here. Therefore, his house-museum will be rehabilitated too. Work is going on daily. Generally, the mentioned street is in a state of emergency.

“We are planning to replace underground communications on the whole street, and the next stage will be the rehabilitation of the buildings and the rubbish placed here,” said Kakha Kaladze.

The building, which was built at the end of the 19th century, still retains its original architectural look and blends organically with the narrow diversion of Pirosmani Street.

Within the framework of the rehabilitation project, the plans are: Rebuilding and strengthening of the foundation and walls; restoration of the facades while maintaining authentic architectural details; removal of unauthentic buildings on the back facade and restoration of the modern facade; restoration of wood decorative elements and glass trusses at the side of the yard; replacement of roofing with brick-colored tin trusses.

In addition, during the works, water, sewerage, and electricity networks will be renewed in public and residential areas. Greening works will be carried out in the yard by preserving the existing green fertilizers.

Upon completion of rehabilitation work, 60 beneficiaries will have significantly improved living conditions and increased property value. Eight million GEL will be spent on the project.

Along with the mayor of the capital, Tamaz Alibegashvili, head of the “Tbilisi Development Fund”, Chughureti’s speaker, David Makatsaria, parliament delegate Rima Beradze, and Sakrebulo deputy Zurab Chikviladze were present.
