The Georgian Health Ministry has stated that the country has reported 14,405 new cases of Coronavirus with 24,409 recoveries and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours. According to data, the positivity rate for the past two weeks stands at 32.04 per cent.
There are currently 161,827 active cases of Coronavirus all over the country.
As per the figures, in total, 14,405 tests were conducted throughout the country within the past 24 hours. Among them, 30,616 were rapid antigen tests, and the remaining 17,979 were PCR tests.
Since February 26, 2020, the nation has registered a total of 1,526,205 cases of Coronavirus. Out of 1,526,205 cases of Covid-19, a total of 1,348,581 patients have recovered, while 15,771 people have succumbed to it.
The new 14,405 cases of Coronavirus were recorded in several parts of Georgia. Tbilisi – 7,040 cases, Adjara – 825, Imereti – 2,014, Kvemo Kartli – 734, Shida Kartli – 841, Guria – 447, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 565, Kakheti – 948, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 261, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 199, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 76.
As per the health authorities, as many as 5,818 individuals are undergoing treatment at hospitals, while 154,996 people are undergoing treatment at homes by self-isolation and consulting with their family doctors.
Besides this, 1,255 patients infected with the Coronavirus are in severe condition, out of which 294 are on artificial ventilation.
Until now, around 33.3% of the total population of Georgia has been fully vaccinated, which accounts for 12.4L people. As of now, around 28.7L doses of vaccine has been administered.
Last week, the Georgian government also reduced the self-isolation and quarantine period to 5 days for some specific patients employed in some particular government fields. Moreover, on Tuesday, the government has announced that they have allowed to re-open nightspots from March 5-6 with a maximum of 60%.
