Marneuli city, Georgia: The Minister of Infrastructure of Georgia, Revaz Sokhadze, visited Marneuli city and inspected the ongoing infrastructural projects on May 15, 2025, Thursday.
Along with the Minister of Infrastructure, Levan Kharabadze, Member of Parliament Zaur Dargal, Mayor Kenan Omarov, and Chairman of the City Council Amiran Giorgadze also visited the site of construction.
It is noteworthy that, in the city of Marneuli and villages – Tsereteli and Shulaveri, new kindergartens for 180 children will be built.
Furthermore, all the three kindergartens have playrooms and bedrooms, wetlands, and yards. The new nurseries will be adapted to people with special needs. Construction is planned to be completed at the end of the year. The projects are implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure, financed by the state budget, and their total value exceeds 10.4 million GEL.
Key highlights of “Construction-Rehabilitation of Kindergartens” program
Within the framework of the “Construction-Rehabilitation of Kindergartens” program, the construction of 4 kindergartens has already been completed in the Lower Kartli region. The United Water Supply Company of the Ministry of Infrastructure implements the project of construction of water supply and sewage systems in the city of Marneuli.
To provide a 24-hour water supply to the city, the water supply network will be fully renovated. The modern pumping stations and new water tanks will also be installed. The project also includes construction works on the pipeline network and the collector.
Certainly, the population will begin progressively transitioning to a 24-hour water supply in 2024. The city of Marneuli will receive an additional sewer system upon completion of the project. Notably, the residents of the Marneuli municipality and three neighboring villages will have access to a 24-hour water supply system.
In addition, a modern type of wastewater treatment plant will be built. It will help to reduce the harmful effects on the environment.
The project is being implemented with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank, and once completed, in total, 25 thousand beneficiaries will benefit from improved water supply services.
