Georgia: The farewell and oath-taking ceremony of Georgian athletes at the XXV Winter Olympic Games was held in the National Olympic Committee of Georgia.
The Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) shared the glimpses of the ceremony on its official Facebook Page on January 30, 2026, Friday. The GNOC shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
Winter Games – 2026 will be held in Italy, Milan/Cortina, from February 6-22, 2026. President of SEOK, Head of Georgian Olympic Delegation Leri Khabelov, Ambassador of Italy Massimiliano D’Antuono, President of the National Figure Skating Federation of Georgia, Head of Olympic Mission Mariam Giorgobiani, wished our athletes a successful competition.
The composition of the Georgian Olympic delegation at the XXV Winter Olympic Games was presented by the General Secretary of SEOK Emzar Zenaishvili.
Then the traditional ceremony of the Olympic oath was held. Skier Nino Tsiklauri swore in the name of Georgian athletes. It is noteworthy that Nino Tsiklauri will be the first man and woman in winter sports to participate in the Olympic Games for the fifth time.
Skier Luka Buchukuri spoke on behalf of the athletes. 8 athletes will compete in 2 sports from Georgia in the Olympic Games: figure skating and mountain skiing.
The main event of the opening ceremony will be held on February 6 at the San Siro Olympic Stadium in Milan, where the Georgian goalkeepers will be skaters: Luka Berulava and Diana Davis. Skiers in Cortina: Luka Buchukuri and Nino Tsiklauri.
The Georgian delegation to the XXV Winter Olympic Games will be led by the Olympic Committee President, Olympic Champion Leri Khabelov. The head of the mission to the Olympic Village will be the President of the Figure Skating Federation, Mariam Giorgobiani, a member of the SEOK Executive Committee.
