Georgia: SEOC Secretary General Emzar Zenaishvili met Professor Branislav Antala, Vice President of the International Federation of Physical Education and Sports (FIEPS), and FIEPS Europe Regional Vice President Professor Dario Novak.
The Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on February 3, 2026, Sunday. The GNOC shared a small note about the meeting along with the glimpses.
Professor Branislav Antala, Vice-President of the International Federation of Physical Education and Sports (FIEPS), and Professor Dario Novak, Regional Vice-President of FIEPS Europe, were on an official visit to the National Olympic Committee of Georgia. Guests at the Olympic Museum were hosted by the General Secretary of SEOK Emzar Zenaishvili.
This visit is related to the preparation stage of the XXII International Scientific Congress of FIEPS to be held in Georgia in 2028. About 250 delegates — scientists, academics, and sports experts from more than 50 countries around the world will participate in the Congress.
During the visit, the first regional office of FIEPS will be officially opened in the Georgian State University of Sports in the Caucasus, which is an important step towards the international positioning of Georgia in the field of physical education and sports.
The International Congress will be hosted in Georgia by the State University of Sport of Georgia.
FIEPS European Congress is an international scientific congress that focuses on study-research, practice, and relevant policy implementation in the fields of physical education, sport, education, and health. The congress is organized by FIEPS Europe – the European regional branch of the Fédération Internationale d’Éducation Physique et Sportive (FIEPS), known as the International Federation of Physical and Sports Education.
Established in 1923, FIEPS continues to actively promote physical education and sport on a global scale, in close cooperation with leading international organisations such as UNESCO, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and others.
