Tbilisi: Shalva Papuashvili visited the patients at the Iashvili Children’s Clinic and congratulated them on Christmas and New Year on behalf of the Parliament of Georgia. He, together with the Deputy Speakers of the Parliament, Giorgi Volski, Davit Sergeenko, Levan Ioselian and Parliamentarian Irma Zavradashvili, gave New Year’s gifts to the children.

“We visited children with leukaemia, their parents, who are heroes and fight together with doctors. There are many positive results of treatment. We made the children happy a little, gave them gifts and congratulated them on the New Year. The infrastructural rehabilitation of the building will be completed at the end of this month. The environment created in Iashvili’s clinic is equal to the international European standard; it is important that the level of treatment is as well, which is welcome,” said Giorgi Volski.

“We were given the opportunity to visit the patients and were given modest gifts. It is very emotional for us to interact with these children and show this support. This infrastructure is one of the central ones in the provision of children’s medical services, and I am glad that the rehabilitation is practically completed, and very soon, there will be a modern, proper infrastructure to provide quality health services to children”, said Davit Sergeenko.

The Chairman of the Parliament and the deputies also inspected the infrastructural works in the clinic. According to the vice-speaker, Levan Ioselian, it is important for the state to invest more in the direction of children’s healthcare.

“It is very important and, at the same time, exciting to communicate with these children. I am glad that the results of treatment in this hospital are one of the best. It is very important for the state to invest more in medicine, in the treatment of children, so that the time will come when our citizens will not go to other countries for treatment,” said Levan Yoseliyan.

“This event was very important in its content because it is hard for me as a woman, a mother, and a doctor, but the children were so happy; we were happy too. The clinic is preparing a new infrastructure for children; this is very good because the full capacity of this clinic is very important for the country”, said Irma Zavradashvili.

“A tradition has already been established in the Iashvili clinic. Every year, the Chairman of the Parliament congratulates the patients of the Onco-Hematology Department on the New Year. Such support is very important to the clinic and our patients. I think we will definitely keep this tradition, and today’s congratulations will be a significant step in the quick recovery of our patients”, said Ivane Chkhaidze. Currently, 20 children are undergoing treatment in the Onco-Hematology Department of Iashvili Clinic.
