Georgia signs trilateral memorandum to boost vocational education

Georgia: A memorandum of trilateral cooperation was signed between the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, College “Spectr”, and “Durgaltai School”.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the memorandum signing ceremony on its official Facebook Page on September 3, 2025, Wednesday. The Georgian Education Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.

The signing of this memorandum marks an important step toward strengthening vocational education in Georgia. It should also be noted that the document was signed by Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze, Mate Takidze, Director of the College “Spectre”, and Akaki Gurgenidze, Principal of the “Durgalta School”.

The main goal of the memorandum is to develop professional programs in the field of plantation through public-private partnership, train qualified staff for the demands of the labor market, and promote employment.

The document explores the establishment of a new educational enterprise and the implementation of a joint professional training program. It is for this purpose that the “Durgalta School” was given free of charge for a period of 15 years from the state, the building based on the college “Spectre” was given, and its complete rehabilitation, with a project worth 1 350 00 GEL, will be provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. Austrian partners provide the workshop with modern standard equipment.

From the summer of 2026, the college will receive the first stream of those who want to study the plant case.

While visiting the college “Spectre”, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, Deputy Chairman of the City Council, Tinatin Nibloshvili, and Chairman of the Tbilisi City Council’s Education and Culture Commission, Kakhaber Labuchidze, visited the college’s educational laboratories.
