Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Georgia has organises informational meeting in the schools. The aim of the meeting was to apprise the children on the various aspects of protection of their privacy.
It is to be noted that the special Investigation Service together with the Ministry of Education and Science holding information meetings in schools with schoolchildren throughout Georgia. The series of the of the meetings started in December 2023 and is still ongoing.
As per the latest information these nationwide meetings were held in 70 schools in total. This included Tbilisi – 22, Shida and Lower Kartli – 9, Kakheti – 11, Imereti – 11, Adjara Autonomous Republic – 11, and Samegrelo – 6.
As it is mentioned above the main objective of the information campaign is to make the efforts for the protection of the facts of the personal life of schoolchildren. This also aim to to protect them from crime and to warn them because in recent times there is a lot of blackmailing and coercion of minors through social networks sites with photo and video materials. The cybercimes are targering the minors through online mediums.
However many criminal have been punished by imposing the strict measurs of the Criminal Code and the facts are still being investigated by the Special Investigation Service for furher dicovery of facts.
It is worth to mention that during the meetings investigators provided schoolchildren their parents and educators detailed information regarding mass-predatory crimes of privacy. They have been also made aware the right of privacy,how to protet the privacy while using the online platforms.
This is noteworthy that the Special Investigation Service continues to work actively to uncover the facts of violation of privacy and to raise awareness of minors and cooperates with the Ministry of Education and Science in this regard.
