Tbilisi: The Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Tea Akhvlediani addressed the Government Commission for Civil Equality and Integration “State Strategy of Civil Equality and Integrations 2021-2030 years” 2023-2024.
Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani opened the expanded session of the Governmental Commission on Civil Equality and Integration with a welcome speech and presented the two-year action plan of the State Strategy for Civil Equality and Integrity to the state agencies of the Commission for agreement.
The action plan was developed under the leadership and coordination of the State Minister’s Office, in close cooperation with state agencies, state trustees in ethnic minorities and mayors of municipalities.
Tea Akhvlediani spoke about the priorities of the action plan, set goals and objectives, within the framework of the strategic directions of the state policy for civil equality and integration and thanked the sectoral government agencies and various structural units, local governments for fruitful cooperation and action plan preparation for active participation in cess.Â
The Minister of State emphasized that the draft document was prepared with wide public involvement, which took into account the active participation of the National Minorities Council, NGOs, experts, community interested actors, population of ethnic minorities, international partners under the Ombudsman
Members of the Government Commission approved the document presented. The plan was ambitious and result-oriented by the public attending.
 Agencies expressed full readiness for the effective implementation of the documented actions. The State Minister’s apparatus noted the need for effective coordination between implementing agencies and institutions in the process of planning implementation.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Action Plan Implementing Agencies, as well as mayors of municipalities with ethnic minorities and representatives of various agencies as invited guests.
“Civil Equality and Integration State Strategy 2021-2030” 2023-2024 action plan will be presented to the Georgian government for approval.
“At today’s session we agreed and finished the work.The Action Plan 2023-2024 of the State Strategy for Civil Equality and Integration with Ethnic Minorities, which is more ambitious than previous years.
The strategy fully takes into account the results achieved so far, trends and the needs of our population; also, by the end of 2024, aims all priorities towards tangible and sustainable results achievement – whether it’s increasing the level of knowledge in the state language, improving access to quality education, socio-economic integration, civic-political participation, or intercultural dialogue.Â
We have provided an inclusive process for developing an action plan that enables engagement of NGOs, National Minority Council members with Ombudsman, as well as our international partners. “In the coming days, an action plan will be submitted to the Georgian Government for approval”, – said the Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani.Â
