Rustavi, Georgia: Rustavi City Hall celebrated the day of family holiness and respect for parents with a large-scale march on May 17, 2025, on Saturday.
The Mayor of Rustavi shared a video of the large-scale march on her official Facebook page. The Minister also congratulated the citizens of Rustavi on this special occasion.
While congratulating, she noted that a large-scale march was organized on the occasion of Family Holiness and Parental Respect Day in Rustavi. Rustavi people and citizens gathered from the Lower Kartli regions joined the march organized by Rustavi Diocese clergymen and Chokhosanta society.
The participants of the march first gathered at the Heroes Memorial Square named after Jacob Tsurtaveli and walked to the Rustavi Cathedral named after Saint King Vakhtang Gorgasli.
In addition, it should be noted that the procession, in front, was led by the clergymen of Rustavi Eparchy, glassmen, and children dressed in Georgian national clothes.

The procession honoring family sanctity and parental respect saw participation from both citizens and key government officials, including Rustavi Mayor Nino Latsabidze, MP Irakli Shatakishvili and his family, State Trustee Levan Kharabadze, Parliamentarians Zaur Dargal and Davit Sherazadishvili, members of the Rustavi City Council faction “Georgian Dream,” mayors from Lower Kartli municipalities, and Sakrebulo chairmen.
On the occasion of the Holiness of the Family and Respect of Parents, the priests of the diocese held a festive paraklis at the Cathedral of St. King Vakhtang Gorgasli of Rustavi.
In Georgia, the Day of Holiness of Family and Respect for Parents is celebrated with the prayer-blessing of the Catholic-Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II, since 2014.
