Europe Day which falls on the 9 May every year is being organized by the Republic of Georgia this time on 11 May 2024. This is the first time Georgia is hosting a significant event after gaining the status of candidate country.
The event will be held at the “Expo Georgia Exhibition” centre in Tbilisi. The day is marked annually to commemorate the declaration of Robert Schuman, who was the French minister. This declaration became the base for the inception of the European Union.
The day will be full of several events as well. The participant will have the opportunity to learn about the rich traditions, cultures, and heritage of the member states of EU as well. They will also come to know about the function of the European Investment Bank . The different pavilions erected at the spot will host different activities.
At pavilion number four, there will be activities like quizzes, prizes, cuisines, and cultural performances. Similarly pavilion number four will have the stage program. On the other hand, the pavilion no. 11 and its yards will host an event dedicated to interactive games for the children. A captivating show namely “Luna” and the planet of the “Fireflies” will be held in the yard located next to pavilion number three.
At the same time, the yard next to pavilion number three will also have food stalls to taste the diverse cuisine from across Georgia. The official opening ceremony will take place at 11:30 on the Pavilion number 4. Georgia aspires to be part of the European Union. The country already has taken the initiative in this direction. The policies, rules, and regulations have been formulated as per European standards for a long time.
Last year Georgia was granted the status of the candidate country which is being seen as a progressive step towards Georgia’s European integration.
