A meeting was held with the representatives of the Association of Turkey’s seedling producers in the Agricultural, Scientific, and Research Center.
The Scientific Research Center for Agriculture (SRCA) of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on April 2, 2026, Thursday. The Georgian Scientific Center also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
A working meeting was held with the representatives of the Turkish Fruits Producers Association (FUAB) at the Agricultural Scientific-Research Center, which was attended by Levan Ujmajuridze, the director of the center, and specialists in the field areas.
During the meeting, the main challenges in the field of seedling agriculture were discussed, including the quality assurance of fertilizer materials, modern approaches to seedling production and distribution, as well as the effectiveness of regulation mechanisms. The Georgian side shared with Turkish colleagues the practice and experience in the field of development of plant agriculture, certification system, and quality control of imported fertilizer materials in Georgia.
“Development of plantation agriculture is one of the important preconditions for the sustainable development of the agro-sector. Professional cooperation and sharing of experience create the basis for effective solutions to the challenges in the field and to ensure the availability of researchable, high-quality materials,” noted Levan Ujmajuridze, the director of the Center.
The parties focused on deepening professional collaboration, experience sharing, and joint project development prospects, which will contribute to modern standards-based plant farming.
At the invitation of the Turkish side, within the framework of future cooperation, a working visit of the representatives of the Center to the Republic of Turkey is planned in the near future, where there will be an introduction to the activities of the plantation farms, and determine the priority directions of cooperation, including the introduction of prospective varieties of crop crops in Georgia.
The Turkish Association of Seedling Producers is an important professional union working in the field, which unites seedling manufacturers and actively cooperates with representatives of both state and private sectors.
