Georgia: Foreign Minister talks to Slovenia’s Counterpart over Phone

As the European Commission recommended granting candidate status to Georgia in the European Union, it became an important development for the country.

Elia Dariashvili stated that the recommendation of candidate status to Georgia by the European Commission is a big development. This development will further open the gate of opportunity for the development of Georgia in future. He also expressed hope that the support of Slovenia is very significant for gaining full membership in the European Union.

Just a few days ago, the European Commission Finally recommended the grant of Candidate status to Georgia.
On the other hand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Tanya Fayon, congratulated Geroria for the first step toward European Union Membership. Additionally, she also stated that there is an urgent need to enlarge the membership of the European Union.
She reaffirmed the unconditional support of Georgia. She also appreciated the foreign policy of Georgia aimed to establish stable and peaceful relations with all countries, especially countries of the region.

She also noted that Slovenia would continue its support for Georgia in all aspects, whether internal or regional and international matters.

Both leaders also talked about the various opportunities that can be utilised to enhance the bilateral relationship between the Georgia and the Republic of Slovenia.
