Georgia, 8 March 2024: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia (GCAA) issued a report, in which, 74 women possess an air specialist’s validity certificate in Georgia. The report highlights Women’s Empowerment in Georgia. The GCAA also congratulates all the women on the International Women’s Day.

In the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia, out of 34 inspectors of flight safety 8 are women (24%).
Regarding gender equality indicators of the certified category of civil aviation, as in international practice, in Georgia at this stage, women mostly exceed the position of flight attendants. According to the directions, the percentage ratios are as follows:
In addition to the listed specialties/positions, in the field of civil aviation of Georgia, women are employed in other, no less responsible areas, high-level managerial, administrative, or support positions.
The low rate of female involvement in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math) remains one of the global challenges. Promoting the establishment of gender equality and tackling gender stereotypes is important in a tech field like aviation.
Civil Aviation Agency periodically strives to promote the topic of women’s equal inclusion and the realization of opportunities in the aviation sector, support the communication campaigns of international aviation organizations and, to this end, disseminate information about women aviation professionals.
In addition, the HR policy of the agency includes the realization of equal rights and opportunities for women and men. 34 out of 80 employees of the agency are women (43%).
