Georgia:Â The French Interior Minister Geral Darmani announced one important detail of the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. According to him, not 700 or 600 thousand tickets will be sold or distributed for the opening ceremony of the Sena River Games, but 326 thousand.
It turns out that the organizers of Paris-2024 refuse the original idea. In particular, the elaborated plan has been changed, according to which the number of parade spectators went down from 2 million to reasonable numbers – to around 600,000. The position of security services has played an important role in the drastic reduction of the number of people who are threatened by the increased threat of terror attacks on events of this scale.
Despite such restrictions, the Paris 2024 opening ceremony will still set a remarkable record – the number of attendees will be four times higher than the capacity of the top-notch international stadium. If the opening ceremonies have been held at the main stadiums, known as the Olympic Stadiums, the opening ceremony of the XXXIII Olympic Games will be held outside the stadium for the first time.
“We will have 104 thousand spectators with tickets purchased on the lower terrace, and 222 thousand people with free tickets will be accommodated on the upper tribune,” – Dharmani explains.
The minister also said that on July 26, about 200 thousand people from nearby buildings will see the opening ceremony along the Sena River under the open air.Â
The opening ceremony will have an additional 50 thousand spectators from Paris fan zones. It’s hard to determine the number of spectators accurately, but their numbers can range from 500 to 600,000.
The scenario of the hosts of the XXXIII Olympic Games is fundamentally different from the predecessors. The opening will be held under open air on the river, in which 180 boats will sail for about 6 kilometers. 94 of the boats will be reserved for sportsmen.
As far as security is concerned, it turns out that about a million people will undergo scans by the French security service to mitigate risks. Including athletes, journalists, personal defenders, and those who live with key infrastructure.
