Tbilisi: The Georgian Ministry of Environment and agriculture of Georgia and Sweden government has prepared a concept document. The document has covered all details related to the environment conservation.
The official Facebook page of Environmental Information and Education Centre, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture also shared this information. As per the official Facebook page, “ Within the framework of the ongoing program “Save Nature – Georgia” of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia and the Swedish Government, the concept document of protected and other conservation areas has been prepared.”
As per the further information the concept documents as a sectoral policy document will reflects the national vision for the conservation of nature on protected and other conservation areas. Moreover, it will also ensure that effective policy and good governance system of protected areas formed in accordance with world best practices, standards and principles.
At the same time the document will also sets out priorities and principles that are critical to the field and is one of the most important tools for biodiversity conservation. The basis for strengthening and improving the field policy system of protected areas on biodiversity is in accordance with Goal-3 of the Convention “Kunmin-Montreal Global Framework for Biodiversity”.
it is also to be added that, the process of working on the concept of protected and other conservation areas was carried out in an open, inclusive and cooperative environment within the framework of extensive consultations with different stakeholders.
To get opinions from stakeholders and prepare the final version, the public review of the concept of protected and other conservation areas will be held on January 30, 2025, at 15:00. Interested people can participate in the meeting through ZOOM platform on the link available in the official Facebook page.
The Georgian environment ministry has taken many steps to protect rich flora and fauna of country. The ministry has also reserved many areas as protected areas.
