Georgian bullet shooters youth and senior teams win 7 medals at Grand Prize

The Georgian youth and senior bullet shooters teams won seven medals at the 2025 ISSF Grand Prix, which was held on January 9, 2025, in Ruse. The youth and senior Georgian bullet shooters teams fought for the "Big Prize" in Slovenia and took home medals.

The Georgian youth and senior bullet shooters teams won seven medals at the 2025 ISSF Grand Prix, which was held on January 9, 2025, in Ruse. The youth and senior Georgian bullet shooters teams fought for the “Big Prize” in Slovenia and took home medals.

The Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) shared glimpses of the award ceremony on its official Facebook Page with a short note on January 14, 2025, Tuesday.

The 2025 ISSF Grand Prix took place in the second week of January in the tiny town of Ruse. Initially, the youth team took part in the competition and in their debut won 3 medals in shooting from a pneumatic pistol over 10 meters.

Salome Frodiashvili became the champion in girls with 235.4 points, and Mariam Abramishvili went to third place with 210.9 points. The second-best result from the boys’ team – Giorgi Mumladze got 236.5 points.

The Georgian anthem was sung after the end of mixed couples competition in the same age group. Salome Frodiashvili and Giorgi Mumladze defeated Moldovan couple Ana Dulce and Clementi Ursu 17:13.

As a result, with two gold and one silver and bronze medals, the Georgian youth team took the first place in the team ranking.

Mariam Frodiashvili was also successful in seniors, where she got a silver medal with 237.4 points. Mariam Marshava donated to the success of the team with 213.1 points and a bronze medal.

Mariam Marshava and Levan Kadagidze, a mixed couple, finished third in the 10-meter pneumatic pistol shooting competition with a large prize. In the bronze medal match, Future Medalists defeated the Azerbaijani squad 16:10.

It should be noted that the Georgian team had the best result in the competition with seven medals (2 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze).

2025 ISSF Grand Prix

Georgian shooters who competed in the 2025 ISSF Grand Prix in Ruse, Slovenia included Salome Prodiashvili, Mariam Abramishvili, and Levan Kadagidze. 

  • Salome Prodiashvili: Won the women’s 10m air pistol final.
  • Mariam Abramishvili: Finished with the top score in qualification for the women’s 10m air pistol final, but won the bronze medal. 
  • Levan Kadagidze: Along with Mariami Marshava, won the bronze medal in a late push.
