Georgian Culture Days open in Tashkent with Grand Gala Concert

Georgian Culture Days are being held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. It should be noted that these are organized by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and are being supported by the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Days of Culture opened with a gala concert of the Georgian State Folklore Ensemble – “Erisioni” and Uzbekistan’s Alisher Navoi Opera and Ballet Ensemble “Tumor.”
The Ministry of Culture of Georgia shared the glimpses of the events on its official Facebook Page on March 10, 2026, Tuesday. The Georgian Ministry also shared a small note about the Georgian Culture Days, along with the highlights of the events being held.
A gala concert, titled “Dialogue of Cultures – Georgia and Uzbekistan: Heritage and Modernity,” was held in the Grand Opera and Ballet Theater named after Alisher Navoi of Uzbekistan. An exhibition of works created on the Georgian-Uzbek theme was organized in the theater hall.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture of Georgia Tinatin Rukhadze, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Uzbekistan David Kotaria, and other guests.
On March 10-11, Alisher Navoi Cinema will show the films of directors Eldar Shengelaya and Mikheil Kobakhidze: “Sherekiles”, “Wedding”, “Umbrella”, and “Musicians”.
“Days of Georgian Culture in Uzbekistan once again confirms the special importance of this project. State ensembles from two countries best demonstrated the power of culture in their relationship with people.
Part of the diverse program of the Days of Georgian Culture is also the exhibition of works created on Georgian-Uzbek theme and the screening of films by great Georgian directors, which will bring our people closer together, strengthen the cooperation between the two countries,” said Tinatin Rukhadze.
During his visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tinatin Rukhadze decorated the statue of the poet in Tashkent, Shota Rustaveli Square, with flowers.
