The Georgian delegation is on official visit to Uzbekistan under Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. The members of delegation during the visit met Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Mejlis Tanzila Narbayeva on Tuesday.
David Songulashvili, the Georgian minister of environment protection and agriculture is also part of this visiting delegation. David Songulashvili while taking to his social media handles have shared information of their meeting with chairperson of senate of Uzbekistan.
The minister on his official Facebook page added that, “Today under the leadership of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze as part of an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, we met with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Mejlis Tanzila Narbayeva.”
According to minister during the meeting attention was paid to the long-standing friendly relations between Georgia and Uzbekistan and the prospects for the development of cooperation in various fields.
The deepening of relations on cooperation in multilateral international formats, including the role of the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s favourable geographical location in this regard were noted.
The Georgian delegation includes the first Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Sports Shalva Gogoladze and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
A day ago Prime Minister also had a brief discussion on bilateral issues during his meeting with chairman of parliament of Georgia. In this meeting both sides highlighted the importance of strong bilateral relation for better future.
At that meeting similar views were also expressed by the speaker of parliament as well. He also underlined decision being taken by their government for betterment of bilateral relation and taking them to new heights.
Moreover, Prime Minster stressed we are taking every effort to enhance Georgia’s role as connected hub. The meeting of Georgian Prime Minister with his counterpart from Uzbekistan is also scheduled for today.
