Tbilisi: The Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze who also holds the position of Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party condemned the expected unification of all the opposition parties. His comments came in the wake of the expected unification of the opposition parties before the October general elections.
According to the Tbilisi’s Mayor “ It does not matter if the domestic opposition unites or not for any single objective. The reason is when you are radical the public will always give you an appropriate answer with the votes.”
He further added “ These groups appear different due to their names but actually this is one group, they have one patron. Moreover the radicals will always be doomed to failure as they cannot make any effort for the welfare of the country.
Mayor also accused the oppostionn parties and said that Since the year of 2012, these people have been destabilizing our country with the creation of multiple hurdles . They are trying to bring everything bad to the country with their continued confrontation division of the public. However what they do. There action are doomed to failure as against the values of country.”
The secretary general also stated that the opposition parties are “deliberately misleding ” to promote themselves as having “new faces” for the election, but there efforts will be failed according to him.” He specifically criticised the opposition while saying” The leaders of the opposition parties are trying to mislead the public. They are posing themselves as the new face of the Georgian politics however this will not bring any result as people came to know their misdeeds long time ago.”
Moreover these leaders are not new face with a vision rather are old radical who have been born from the heart of the United National Movement . GD leader also accused the opposition parties for the “transformation” of non-governmental organisations into political parties ”.Notably, the people of the Republic of Georgia are going to elect the new government.
The opposition parties also come on a single platform as they are critical to adopting the foreign agent law. The opposition has accused the ruling regime of GD of stifling the independent media voices with the foreign agent law.
