Georgian Education Minister Visits Scotland

Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science, is on an official visit to Edinburgh, Scotland. He was accompanied by Givi Mikanadze, the chairman of the education and science committee of the Parliament of Georgia. During the visit minister participates in the “conference on higher education”.

Tbilisi: Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science, is on an official visit to Edinburgh, Scotland. He was accompanied by Givi Mikanadze, the chairman of the education and science committee of the Parliament of Georgia. During the visit minister participates in the “conference on higher education”.

This conference was organised by the British Council. The conference was held under the theme of “Going Global 2023”.
During the visit of the delegation, Minister Giorgi held a working meeting with Graham Day, the Scotish education minister. The other dignitaries with whom the Georgian Education minister held the meetings included the leaders of the Scottish and British University associations along with the representatives of the University of Dundee.

Both sides, during their meeting, discussed the prospects and future cooperation between both countries for the implementation of joint and dual academic programs in Georgia.

Giorgi Amilakhvar apprised the attendee’s vision of the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science. According to the Minister of education of Georgia, the Ministry had the vision to internationalise higher Education. Under the aim of the University of Higher Education, the Georgian Government wants to create a Joint and Dual Academic program.

On the other hand, the British side also expressed the willingness to cooperate with the Georgian Government to boost the education sector of the country.
The British side also said that the government of Scotland is interested in establishing a project related to Higher education.
Besides the education leader from Georgia, many world leaders also came together at Edinburg to Discuss the challenges and prospects being faced by the education sector of the country.

The issue regarding the implementation of Artificial intelligence in the education sector also got attention.
Most world leaders advocated enhancing global collaboration among international universities. Moreover, this international collaboration will increase the rate of employment of the students.

Dual academic collaborations will also provide the opportunity for students to get jobs in their native country as well as in foreign countries as well.
