Georgia: With the support of Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, a prestigious cooking competition was hosted at Ikaros College.
Students from 12 state vocational educational institutions participated in this event, which was a testament to the talent and dedication of our young learners.
The contestants prepared the main dish, a traditional Georgian dish, based on the task of creating a balanced and nutritious meal for a family of four, which they received in advance. The competent jury evaluated the participants based on the first, second, and third-place candidates.
The First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Alexander Tsuladze, and the General Director of the Professional Skills Agency, Irine Margishvili, awarded the winning contestants.
Aleksandre Tsuladze addressed the attending community, congratulated the contestants on their success, and wished them success.
During his conversation, the First Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of holding competitions to encourage successful students and promote their employment. He noted that the Ministry will always support the implementation of such initiatives at the vocational education level.
Prizes, including cash rewards, scholarships, and internships, were also given to the winning participants from various private and public organizations.
The competition aims to promote professional education and cooking as a profession. It also encourages the development of high standards of skills and competencies and raises society’s awareness.
The competition was a true testament to the power of collaboration. It was held with the initiative and involvement of TSU College of Media and Tele Arts, as well as College Ikaros, and received unwavering support from the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, the Professional Skills Agency, and the private sector.
In addition, the competition allows successful students to present their culinary abilities in a competitive and professional environment, which can open doors to future opportunities in the culinary industry.
