The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health and Social Welfare of Georgia, Mikheil Sarjveladze, met with the Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality, Tea Akhvlediani. The meeting was held in the Rukhi republican hospital.
Notably, the Ministers congratulated medical staff and patients for Christmas and New Year and checked on their health condition.
Mikheil Sarjveladze and Tea Akhvlediani, among them, visited patients who are temporarily living in occupied Abkhazia and receiving medical services at the Ash Clinic.
Mikheil Sarjveladze emphasized the strategic importance of Rukhi Republican Hospital and noted that the medical institution offers high-quality medical services to the population of the region and patients displaced from the occupied territories.
Tea Akhvlediani noted that the possibility of access to medical services of the highest standard for the people of the Abkhazia region in the immediate vicinity of the Enguri Bridge is one of the clear demonstrations of the great efforts being undertaken in the framework of the unified governmental approach to reconciliation, trust restoration, and peace.
A presentation was also held in the clinic, where the hospital’s achievements and plans were discussed. It was noted thatv is one of the high-tech clinics in the region, where work is constantly going on for the quality of services, service development, and training of medical staff. In 2025, the clinic will serve 25,000 patients, including the population migrated from the temporarily occupied territories.
It was emphasized that Rukhani Republic Hospital has not only increased its capacity but also made investments that have dramatically transformed the quality of medical care in the region.
On the Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti side, State Trustee David Verava and Director of Medical Holding of Georgia Malkhaz Zhorzhikashvili were at the Rukhi Republican Hospital.
