Georgia: Eight young individuals chosen from Tetritskaro Municipality to be invited to the National Military Service met with Zurab Rostiashvili, the Head of Military Counting, Challenge and Recruitment, and Giorgi Tsiklauri, the Mayor of Tetritskaro Municipality on March 20, 2025, Thursday.
Zurab Rostiashvili, symbolically, gave a coin with the image of King Erekle II to a young man who voluntarily registered in the National Military Service of the former, voluntarily registered in his own will. Notably, the young people will go through the Basic Combat Training Course (BCT) in the first stage.
According to the Code of Defense of Georgia, starting in 2025 the selection of candidates to join the National Military Service will be carried out based on annual random selection. It should be noted that the National Military Service of the previous ones can only be passed in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia.
The Deadlines and payments of the National Military Service of the former:
- For service in combat subdivision – for 6 months – for 765 GEL;
- For work in the Combat Support and Combat Provision subdivision – for 8 months – at the amount of 635 GEL;
- For junior commander positions and pre-determined specialty – for 11 months for sergeants – 1275 GEL, and for officers – 1530 GEL.
After completing 11 months of service, these persons will be placed in the reserve. It should be noted that a person who volunteered in the National Military Service will be paid 30 percent more than the salary established in the National Military Service.
The young people were sent off to the Georgian Military Service by the mayor of Tetritskaro Municipality, Giorgi Tsiklauri. It should be noted that Zurab Rostiashvili, the head of the Tetritskaro Municipal Division of Military Counting, Invitation and Recruitment, and Family Members of the Seniors were also present there. Along with the mayor, they also bestowed blessings upon them and wished them luck in their work.
