Tbilisi: The Georgian National University will host a photo competition. The award ceremony for the winners will be held on March 18th 2024, which is celebrated as Georgia’s national journalism day.
According to the information available an internal university photo contest will be held under the initiative of the Journalism Program at the National University of Georgia. SEU will hold this seminar with the support of the Career Development and Alumni Relations Service. This photo contest will be held on the theme of “Our Earth”.
Following are some of the subjects on which the contest will be held.
1. Photo subject
2. healthy lifestyle and healthy environment
3. Water as a warning resource
4. Energy in a broad sense – its sources, resources and availability
5. possibility of inclusive education
6. innovations
7. inequality and poverty
8. richness and variety
9. town-village
10. Nature – its uniqueness
11. production – any kind
12. the sea and its resources
13. Gender equality
14. safety
*** At the same time the conditions of the photo contest are as follows:
- All undergraduate and graduate students of SEU can participate in the competition
- A photo can be taken with a camera or mobile phone
- A contestant can submit only one photo
- The content of the photo should relate to only one of the listed topics
- There are no aesthetic limitations to the content side of the works. However they should be easy to understand for a wide audience
- The work must not contain discriminatory, violent or offensive elements;
If plagiarism is detected the contestant’s photo will be removed from the competition.

- Compliance with the theme of the competition and the selected goal
- originality of the idea
- innovative vision
- compositionally correct shot
- Combination and matching of colours
The photo should show an interesting vision and a creative approach.
The jury of the competition will select three winners. All three winners will be given a certificate and gifts, and all participants will be given a certificate of participation.
Moreover the best photo selected by the jury will be displayed on a large screen in the atrium of SEU’s new campus. The winning photos will also be published on SEU’s website and social networking sites.

- Announcement of winners: March 18, 2024
- Award ceremony: March 21, 2024 (dedicated to Georgian Journalism Day)
