Georgia: The Georgian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) published a joint statement saying they would not obey Russian law.

The text of the statement is provided in its entirety:

“55 days ago, the government broke the promise given to Georgian onion and re-initiated Russian law. He wanted to break the civil sector by passing this law but received unprecedented unity and tireless resistance. Georgian people firmly defend and will defend their European future and will never adapt to living under Russian boots. Russian law will not work in our country. He will remain a flat paper, which none of us will obey.”

It states “The government is consciously threatening our country’s economy, international reputation, civil order, and peace. They did it on purpose so the citizens of this country could not help each other. But we have been proving for 55 days that people are not tired of loving the country. Our protest and fight will continue until this law is abolished.”

“They tried to intimidate us with special forces, beatings and swears, arrests and fines, but they failed to realize that nothing could stop us from doing the right thing called helping people. We will continue our work – we will help people and each other, and we will not obey Russian law,” stated the NGOs.

Georgian NGO’s says, “We will not leave anyone alone. We will protect all detained and all fined. Our lawyers will fight both inside the country and in international courts. We will collect money to pay each other the fines that we were given to fight for the love and freedom of Georgia.”

The statement also mentioned that “the whole civilized world sees and supports our struggle. With the adoption of Russian law, election observation is threatened, but we, Georgian civil organizations, promise to protect the elections and each citizen’s voice. We will be with you in every polling station and will protect free and fair elections.”

Finally, the statement concluded, “This is Georgia. We will not be broke! The Georgian people, once again and not once again, will thrill the whole world with the struggle for freedom. We declare disobedience—no to Russian law! Yes, to Europe.”
