As the allegations highlighted by the Helsinki Commission have created controversy across the country, the Government representative and an officials of Parliament deny all the allegations. They reject the commission statement which includes the allegations of dark money link with the ruling party Georgian Dream.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the Georgia Dream the ruling party of Georgia as well as the senior officials of the Parliament have come forward and rejected the strange allegation of the Helsinki commission. In addition to denying the charge they have also termed this act of commission as gross and direct interference in Georgia’s election process.
Givi Mikanadze while commenting on the allegations on Tuesday said this is direct interference in Georgia’s internal matters. He is the Chair of the Committee on Education, Science, and Youth Affairs of the Georgian Parliament. He said this is a “gross interference” in the election campaign ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26 to target the ruling party which is heading towards a straightforward victory.
Mikanadze’s reaction came after the commission’s allegation. On Monday the commission said that the ruling party Georgian Dream is using dark money derived from a network of scam call centers. Moreover this dark money is being utilized to intentionally target the leaders of the opposition parties. The chair speaking specifically added that a mere allegation without any cogent evidence cannot be accepted. The commission’s statement aims to help the country’s opposition parties which is totally unethical.
As per Mikanadze the party has already asked commission to provide us solid evidence in support of their allegation. However, we are sure that those which have no existence in nature cannot be produced. If they have any proof to support the alleged statement, why did they not make it public so far? This is false propaganda created on behalf of opposition parties.
He also added criticizing that anything without proof is doubtful. The Ruling party is all set to win the forthcoming presidential election with a full majority. The people will reject all false narratives of the opposition.
