Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, is all set to take part in the land transfer ceremony for Georgia in Jordan.
As per the sources, the Prime Minister of Georgia will arrive in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He will pay an official visit on May 28-29.
According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration, within the framework of the visit, Irakli Gharibashvili, together with Prince Ghazi bin Muhhamad, will take part in the official ceremony of handing over the land to Georgia at the place of baptism of Jesus Christ.
Georgian Culture Center will be built on the land, which covers an area of ​​4 thousand square meters, at the initiative of Ilia II.
The government press release also states that during the visit, the head of government will also hold high-level meetings with senior officials of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
On January 19, 2022, the government administration announced that a 4,000-square-meter plot of land in Georgia had been transferred to Jordan.
The plot of land is nearby to the Jordan River, near the place of the baptism of the Savior.
