Tbilisi: The President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili, Under the head of “Our Voice to Europe” held a meeting with the representatives of the Georgian diaspora living in the European countries via telebridge.
While speaking on the occasion President said, “It was very interesting because you listed practically all the reasons why we want to join Europe. This is our first attempt at such a level, and I am very happy that it worked out, which means we will continue to do so. “Our Voice to Europe” is not a presidential campaign but desire to join EU.
She also said We had to start somewhere, but this is actually a campaign for each one of you who wants integration with Europe. It is very important that after November 8, many different events were held. There were representatives from various fields, including culture, sports, media, medicine, non-governmental organisations, ethnic minorities, disabled people and others.
This campaign was also spread to some regions of the country including Zugdidi, Gori, Kvareli, and Duis – unfortunately, we could not go everywhere, but all the regions we visited joined the campaign with enthusiasm. This “European voice” of yours will also be delivered to Europe.
President of Georgia further said, “ I want to tell all of you that I do not intend for such a meeting to have a one-time character. We are hopefull this campaign will come to a natural postive end, but your role in this process is very important for European integration. It is true that the exact date is not final we would like to tell you in advance that we will meet again at the end of January in a slightly different format to discuss the progress of Journey.
You will take decision on rest of topics and not only for you who are gathered here today but this is a important message for the diaspora Living in all countries. Those who have any interest and desire to participate in these meetings can contact us through any medium of communication.
