Georgian Prime Minister visits renovated Batumi Airport

The rehabilitation of the runway in Batumi Airport, which included a capital upgrade of artificial cover in critical areas for 1 km, and the number of aircrafts doubled, which allows the airport to accommodate 9 medium-sized aircraft and 1 helicopter at the same time.
It is worth noting that the expansion of passport control areas in passenger reception and flight area and additional terminal entrance area are also planned this year.

In the 8 months of 2025, Batumi International Airport served 840,893 passengers, up by 32%, compared to last year’s similar figure, and increased flight frequency by 45 percent.
According to the Minister, Currently, 22 airlines on 24 airlines fly at Batumi Airport, with a frequency of about 160 per week. In light of a growing trend, the airport infrastructure needs increased sustainability and expansion.
” Batumi International Airport has the highest rates of passenger train growth among international airports in the country,” – said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
According to him, the Ministry of Economy is actively working with TAV Georgia to ensure that Batumi Airport continues to be stable and develop according to market demands.
It should be noted that the company TAV Georgia has also acquired additional equipment for the proper functioning of Batumi International Airport.
