Gori Municipality, Georgia: The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office indicted four persons on counts of attempted murder in aggravated circumstances, illegal acquisition, carrying, and transportation of a firearm, and failure to report a particularly serious crime.
The Prosecution Service of Georgia posted the details of this heinous crime on its official Facebook Page on July 15, 2025, Tuesday. The Prosecution Service also shared glimpses of the arrests made by them along with the details.
Cause of charges
The Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted an in-depth investigation into this case. According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was determined that on July 8, in Gori, because of the confrontation on the ground of negotiation, with his friends.
He arrived at the house when the latter fired multiple shots from a firearm in a crowded place, resulting in life-threatening injuries to the victim. The companions of the family had their mouths cut off. After the incident, the victim and his companions, as well as the accused, left the scene.
The investigation also established that the two accused were present at the scene of the crime at the time of the crime and knew about the commission of a particularly serious crime, although they did not report the incident to law enforcement officers.
Law enforcers removed the weapon of commit a crime as a result of one of the accused’s cars. It was determined that he transported the firearm from Tbilisi to Gori.
Criminal charges were laid against the suspect
One person was charged under Article 19-109, Subsection “b” (attempted intentional murder by means that intentionally endangers the life and health of another person) and Article 236, Part 4 (illegal carrying of firearms and ammunition) of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment.
Two persons were charged under the first and second parts of Article 376 (failure to report a serious and especially serious crime), which provides for up to seven years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment, and one person was charged under the third and fifth parts of Article 236 (illegal acquisition and transportation of firearms), which provides for up to 9 years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment.
