Georgia: The Prosecutor’s Office has charged one person for the illegal purchase and storage of a large number of narcotics on March 30, 2025, Sunday.
Sharing the details through Facebook Page, the Georgia Prosecution Service stated that an in-depth investigation was conducted by the staff of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Tbilisi Police Department.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia also investigated this issue and revealed that on March 29, the defendant was illegally storing huge quantities of drugs he had purchased at his address, namely the drug 438 pills containing buprenorphine and the drug methadone.
Cause of charges
According to the investigation conducted by the Georgian Internal Affairs Ministry, it was also found that he was a citizen of Georgia and had narcotics. So, the office initiated the investigation and found him guilty of illegal purchase, storage, and possession of a large amount of narcotic drugs in the country.
Criminal charges laid on the suspect
Moreover, the detainee has been charged under Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, sections 3 and 6. The charge against that person is punishable by imprisonment for 20 years if he is found guilty by a court of law.
It is also worth noting that the Georgian prosecution official also said that they assure a strict punishment for the accused of this heinous crime.
