Georgia: The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has indicted one person with the facts of illegal acquisition, storage, and attempted sale of a particularly large amount of narcotics (drugs).
The Georgia Prosecution Service shared the details of this heinous crime through its official Facebook Page on April 7, 2025, Monday. It is worth noting that the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this case, and revealed that the person who was found with a large amount of drugs is a citizen of Georgia.
Sharing the details through their Facebook Page, the Georgian Prosecution Service stated that an in-depth investigation was conducted by the staff of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Police Department.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia also investigated this issue and revealed that the person who was found with a large amount of drugs was a citizen of Georgia.
After the investigation process, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia revealed that the accused placed the illegally acquired and stored narcotics in the territory of Mtskheta Municipality and Gori for further sale. Before placing the narcotics in other territories for sale, law enforcement officers detained him in Telavi.
During a search of the accused’s house, car, and personal belongings, 66 packages of the narcotic drug “Alpha PVP”, a mobile phone, adhesive tapes, scales, a shovel, and a drone were seized.
It should be noted that the detainee has been charged under Article 260, sections 3 and 6, and Articles 19-260, Parts 5 and 7 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment. Georgian law is very strict against drug-related offenses.
Notably, there is huge public support for the law enforcement agency for these drives to make the country drug-free. Based on the prosecutor’s motion, the court has already imposed imprisonment on the accused as a preventive measure.
