Georgia: The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has filed charges against two persons for the intentional murder. The Office has presented one person with the charge of intentional murder and the other with the charge of not reporting the crime on the fact of the murder in “Rati Bar” in Tbilisi.
The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office shared the details of this crime on its official Facebook page on May 12, 2025, Monday. According to the details, it was noted that the office is investigating the matter further to bring the culprits to justice.
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that on May 11, at approximately 05:30, at the “Rati Bar” located on Baratashvili Street in Tbilisi, the accused stabbed the victim in various parts of his body with a knife. The victim died at the scene of the incident as a result of the injuries he sustained.
The second accused, who was at the scene of the crime and knew that a grave crime had been committed, i.e., intentional murder, still did not inform the law enforcement authorities about this.
However, the Law enforcement officers arrested the accused on the same day. One person was charged under Article 109, Subparagraph “f” of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intentional murder with hooligan intent), which provides for a sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment. The second defendant was charged under Article 376, Part 2 (failure to report a crime) of the Criminal Code of Georgia (failure to report a crime), which provides for a sentence of 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.
Moreover, the Prosecutor’s Office will apply for the use of imprisonment as a preventive measure against the defendants within the time limit established by law.
