Georgian public school pupils competed at 54th International Olympiad of Physics

The Georgian public school's pupils competed with great success at the 54th International Olympiad of Physics (IPHO 2024), the 4th European Girls Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2024), the 12th International Tournament of Young Naturalists (IYNT 2024), and the 37th International Competition of Young Physicists (IYPT 2024).

Georgia: The Georgian public school’s pupils competed with great success at the 54th International Olympiad of Physics (IPHO 2024), the 4th European Girls Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2024), the 12th International Tournament of Young Naturalists (IYNT 2024), and the 37th International Competition of Young Physicists (IYPT 2024).

It is noteworthy that the 12th International Tournament of Young Naturalists (IYNT 2024) was held in Batumi, where the Georgian national team won the deserved first place and gold medals. They were in the team – Alexander Gvaramia and Lile Chelidze, pupils of Ilia Vekua’s 42nd Public School of Physics-Mathematics named after Tbilisi and Vladimir Komarov’s 199th Public School of Physical-Mathematical Tbilisi Tamar Jincharadze, Mariam Bekauri, Konstantine Chubinidze and Nikoloz Tkebuchava. Nineteen teams from 10 countries took part in the international tournament.

The team achieved significant success at the 54th International Olympiad of Physics held in the Islamic Republic of Iran (IPHO 2024). Silver medals were won by Vladimir Komarov’s 199th Public School of Physics-Mathematics in Tbilisi – Luka Anyavadze and Tornike Tsadzikidze, while the winners of the bronze medals were students of the same school – David Kldiashvili and Tsotne Giorgadze. Forty-three countries participated in the Olympics.

Regarding the 37th International Tournament of Young Physicists (IYPT 2024), held in Budapest, Hungary’s capital, the Georgian national team won bronze medals. The team was made up of the following staff – Mariam Lominashvili and Luka Chakhnashvili, pupils of Vekua Physics-Mathematics 42nd Public School of Tbilisi and Vladimir Komarov Ketevan Gogishvili, Mariam Tskitishvili and Nikoloz Gotsadze, students of Vekua’s 42nd Public School Physics-Math Tbilisi, students of Vecua’s Tbilisi Public School of Physics and Mathematics, Ketevan. Three hundred fifty participants from 38 countries were involved in the tournament.

At the 4th European Girls Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2024), held in Eindhoven, Netherlands, the silver medal – Vladimir Komarov’s 199th Public School of Physics-Mathematics in Tbilisi won the silver medal. One hundred ninety-five participants from 57 countries were involved in the Olympics.

The Georgian national teams participate in International Educational Olympics and Tournaments, which are initiated and financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth.
