Georgia: The cultural-educational program “Georgian self-sufficiency” was opened at Tbilisi State University on June 7, 2024. The Patriarchate of Georgia and the National Academy of Sciences organized the program.
The cultural-educational program “Georgian self-sufficiency” aims to remind the Georgian population and raise awareness of the most important stages of history that define the country’s values and self-sufficiency.
With the support of the Patriarchate of Georgia and the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the scientists of science and culture developed a three-year (201-2026) program.
Lectures and creative evenings on Georgian history and cultural issues will be held throughout the country. Georgian citizens living anywhere in the world will be allowed to attend the lecture remotely.
The first meeting under the cultural-educational program will be held at Tbilisi State University. A lecture on the topic “Living culture of three kinds of Georgian alphabet” will be read by academician Avtandil Arabuli.
The meeting will discuss the historically continuous, still alive, and fully functioning Georgian alphabet.
Also, the modern practical use of the three alphabet variations and their “practices” in the national educational space, especially in theological academies and seminaries, where all three variations are taught.
The following lectures, which will be held throughout the country, are on the topics of “Ethnogenesis of Georgians,” “Hall-round Khurot leadership as an expression of the constancy of Georgian culture,” “Formation of Georgian ethnos,” “Folklore leaders,” “Mtkvar-Araksi culture,” “Life of the tortured Ketevan,” “Language problems in modern geopolitical processes,” and others.
The cultural-educational program’s culmination will be 2026, the celebration of the 1700 anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion in Georgia.
