A Georgian student shares his successful journey experience. He said that he is progressive David Rusia. From September, he will continue his studies at Constructor University in Germany with 70% funding.
His passion for technology has always been unwavering. The school environment has provided him with the perfect platform to nurture this interest. His work in the STEM laboratory of the American International School of Progress has been instrumental in the success of several projects.
Their team presented the “Magaroeli Robot” project, which won the Millennium Innovation Contest in 2024. As part of the project, they traveled to America and participated in the NASA Space Center camp.
Their team’s projects at the competition, ‘Robot Miner’ and ‘Smart Uniform’, were designed with a noble purpose-to save miners’ lives and make their work easier. This focus on real-world problems is a testament to their commitment to innovation with a purpose.
He also mentioned that “Thermal Waters” was my first project, which won the competition of inventors and researchers at “Leonardo da Vinci.” At the beginning of 2021, we decided to participate in the competition. With the help of our mentors, Uta Kilasonia and David Songhulashvili, we started working on the project. The pandemic was raging, and we had online meetings. We came up with an idea to create something through which it could obtain alternative energy. Then we met in person, assembled the equipment, and made a project to generate environmentally friendly and innovative electricity.”
The student stated, “I’ve always tried to gain new experiences and skills by actively participating in different projects and events. 2021 Junior Achievement Georgia Under the USAID project “Supporting Entrepreneurship Education in Europe and Asia,” I became an active participant and winner of the innovation camp with the team “Progress Squad”. Also, it was a great experience to be among the top 10 participants of the national-European education program “Nautilus” in 2022. During the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2022, I actively participated in the “Hackathon,” the winning team, Odyssey. Our team has won this contest twice.”
He concludes by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of his journey. He acknowledges that there are exciting challenges ahead, and he believes that his European experiences will equip him with more opportunities to make a positive impact on the world and its resources.
He always says that you can leave your part of progress anywhere. What matters is to have the desire, the motivation, and the ability to work hard. Never stop; dreams do come true!”
