Georgian Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili, during a speech at Turkey- Georgia Business Forum “Chveneburebi”, said that the interest of Turkish business circles in Georgia once again indicates the confidence caused by the ongoing reforms in Georgia and the business environment in the country in general.
According to Levan Davitashvili, as per the data for 2021, investments from Turkey to Georgia amounted to 65 million dollars, and Turkey was in the 4th place in terms of foreign direct investment in Georgia, which underscores the attractiveness of Georgia in Turkish business circles.
According to him, starting from the first days of the pandemic, Turkey was providing immediate assistance to Georgia, for which he thanked the Turkish side for its assistance in fighting the pandemic in this regard.
At the same time, the Vice Prime Minister thanked Turkey for its unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its strong support and assistance to the country’s foreign policy priorities.
According to the Vice Prime Minister, Georgia’s investment environment has never been as competitive and diversified as it is today. He expressed the hope that the significant results achieved by the fruitful work of the governments of Georgia and Turkey will continue to establish effective links between businesses and the implementation of new, ambitious and innovative, mutually beneficial projects.
In his speech, Levan Davitashvili stressed the launch of diagonal cumulation between Georgia, Turkey and the European Union, which, in his estimation, will provide additional impetus to deepen trade relations between the two countries.
The business forum, which Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili commissioned, was attended by several businessmen from Turkey.
