Kutaisi, Georgia: In Kutaisi, an event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the students and the beginning of the new academic year was held at the Cadet Military Lyceum named after General Giorgi Kvinitadze.
The Head of the Imereti region of Georgia shared a glimpse of the event on its official Facebook Page on Monday, September 15, 2025. A small note was also shared about the anniversary event, along with its glimpses.
The Minister of Defense of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani, Commander of Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili, and Director of Lyceum, Colonel Malkhaz Goletiani, addressed the personnel.
The heads of the institute congratulated Lyceum representatives, cadets, and their families on the anniversary and the beginning of the new academic year.
The event in Imereti was attended by Levan Zalkaliani, heads of the Defense Agency, Metropolitan of Kutateli Ioane, and representatives of the local government, as well as members of the cadets’ families.
The Minister of Defense noted that supporting the education of future soldiers is a priority of the government. According to his statement, the Ministry of Defence will continue to support the Lyceum and provide the best accommodation and education for cadets. For this purpose, a new barracks is being built on the territory of the Cadets Military Lyceum.
The first year cadets read “Cadets’ Year”. The society attending the event honored the memory of those who died in the fight for the unity of Georgia and in the performance of their duty.
Lyceum teachers and military personnel were awarded medals, a sculpture of General Giorgi Kvinitadze, seals of thanks, and valuable gifts.
In the Cadets Military Lyceum, students will be accepted through a competition. Pupils completing grade nine this year will be required to register, undergo medical tests, and pass exams in general skills and math.
