Baku: Irakli karseladze the Georgian minister of rural development and infrastructure gave a speech at the conference of parties’ 29th summit. He was speaking at the members at the conference, which is undergoing in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan.
The minister of Georgia during his address raises multiple issues related to the environment and climate change. He also urged all other members for launch of the collective efforts as well.
The Minister in his address stated, “It was important to participate in the high level COP29 forum on climate change in Baku. It is good to discuss approaches to urban renewal, infrastructure development and climate change challenges.
We shared information about our successful practices, large-scale projects that consider the environmental component, appropriate measures to respond to climate change and listened to interesting experiences of different countries,” – about this.
In addition the the Minister also issues a statement. The Minister shared the view of Ministry and this year topic of the ministry was urbanization and climate change
During his speech at the minister Irakli Karseladze focused on the steps Georgia is taking to overcome the challenges created by climate change in implementing urban development and other infrastructure projects.
He noted that the country is expanding the use of renewable energy, improving energy efficiency and in line with global goals of tackling climate change.
According to the minister infrastructure development plays a crucial role in strengthening countries’ economies, climate change and in the age of urban development and global climate crisis, the approach of states must be complex and balanced so that maximum people can get benefits from this as well.
The other representative of the Ministry on this occasion also discussed multi-level and multi-sectoral measures related to sustainable urbanization and climate change.
They noted that cities must play a decisive role in combating climate change and it is important for states to prioritize achieving the goals set out in the Paris Agreement in the process of urbanization of cities and regions.
Together with the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, the Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze was present at the Ministerial conference also.
