Tbilisi: With the support of the National Center for the Development of the Quality of Education of Georgia an annual international conference was opened. The conference discussed the important issues of higher, professional, general and early and preschool education. It will also discuss the achievements and challenges in the context of quality education.
The conference was opened by Georgian Minister of Education Science and Youth Giorgi Amilakhvar who emphasized the importance of quality assurance at all stages of education. The first day of the conference was focused on specific issues of the space for the quality assurance of higher education, such as the main trends of higher education policy and the main mechanism for the evaluation of institutional and educational programs.
Another issue that was discussed during the first day was artificial intelligence and its impact on teaching-learning and research process, education administration, quality assurance mechanisms and procedures.
It is to be added that during the conference important events and activities implemented by the National Center for the Development of the Quality of Education in 2023 and planned for 2024 were also discussed.Â
Among them the analysis of the results of the first and second cycles of cluster accreditation of educational programs as well as the development of field characteristics, the specifics of the recognition of education received abroad and the authenticity of qualifications also discussed as well.
Many ministries and organizations participated in the conference It included Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, public law legal entities within its administration, higher educational institutions, National Center for Development of Quality of Education, the European Association for Quality of Higher Education (ENQA).
It also included European Higher Education Quality Provider Register of Presence (EQAR), World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), European University Association (EUA), Europe Representatives of the Association of Students (ESU) and international experts, members of the Center of Coordinating Council.
Members of the Educational Programs Accreditation Board, members of the Higher Education Boards, Authorization and Accreditation Experts, students, employers, and other stakeholders, as well as partner local and international Representatives of the organizations were also present.
