Gori: Public library renovated in Pkhvenisi village

A project to renovate and improve the public library in Pkhvenisi village of Gori Municipality of Georgia has been completed. The renovation work was executed with the help of the “Gold” beauty center.

As part of the project to provide the best education facility libraries are being established in several villages of the Municipality. Meanwhile the students prepared a questionnaire and surveyed the school community to find out what genres of books they would like in the library.

It is also worth mentioning that as a result of the activity of the readers’ club Library was renewed in the school. The students were given the task of reading Mikheil Javakhishvili’s “The Devil’s Stone.” These children then held a mock trial and discussion. Also depending on the books students read there were poster contests, mini-performances, and other activities to check the overall performance of the students in the academic field.

The library is very well furnished which was appreciated by the students who were present inside. It has several bookshelves. All the shelves are filled with books on different subjects. There is a big study table along with chairs. The present students read the books of their interest on occasion as well. The Municipal administration said that more libraries will be in other villages in the coming time.

Libraries are being established to create interest among students in reading. Students will learn about other fields besides their syllabus. Libraries are considered sources of information. Students who cannot afford costly books can rent them to read.

The children who were present on this occasion also shared their experiences and added that they are thankful for the administration. The children also extended their gratitude to the Mayor for arranging the library’s facility. They further demanded the addition of a number of books on different subjects so that they could enhance their information by reading books on different topics.
