The students’ degrees were awarded at a graduation ceremony on August 6 at Gori State University. An employment forum was also held on the sidelines of the ceremony.
At the opening of the events the guests and graduates were welcomed by the Rector of Gori State University, Professor Aleksandre Mghebrishvili. The Reactor of the university during his address also reviewed the past achievements of the 2023-2024 academic year. He also spoke about the projects implemented with students’ active involvement.
At the same time the graduates were congratulated by the members of the Parliament of Georgia as well as by Professor Giorgi Sosiashvili, who also emphasized the role of students in the process of development and success of the country.
The graduates were also congratulated by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of Georgia Nodar Papukashvili. Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of Giorgi Amilakhvari on this occasion thanked the professors and teachers of the university for their contribution to the education of the next generation.
It is worth mentioning that the gathered community and university graduates were greeted by many dignitaries including the Shida Kartli State Trustee Levan Kharabadze, Gori Mayor Vladimir Khinchegashvili, Gori City Council Chairman Davit Razmadze, Gori Educational Resource Center Head Giorgi Berdznishvili.
The others were the Gori State University Administration Head Davit Kvernadze, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Exact and Natural Sciences Professor Lela Aleksidze, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Law Professor Marika Sherazadishvili, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Professor Ketevan Barbakadze and President of the Student Self-Government Lizi Balakhashvili.
At the same time certificates of appreciation were given to the students involved in the international art festival “Machabli.” The certificate was also awarded to the students of Gori University who participated in the “Studfest 2024” organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and various high-ranking sports competitions and won prize places, and made a special contribution to the sports history of the university.
At the end of the event the chief guests also presented special certificates to the distinguished graduates of Gori State University. The ensemble “Gori” under the Agency for Promotion of Cultural Development of Gori Municipality also performed a musical performance.
